Trips, Good times. or reasons not to stay sad. :)

Hi. Another post since eons. This time it’s time to bring out a real post instead of packaging life in chunks of linguistic matter giving a poetic essence. I was getting shit bored of getting bored and looking for fun and enjoyment. Writing assignments reports seem to hell lot of interesting than finding a TV channel on internet and watch the political drama. I get depressed doing that. What’s happening out there? It is better to stretch the boundaries of secret empires instead of public violence. Well anyway, the last few weeks have been wonderfully good. Never imagined I would take such a plunge out of the mundane cook-work-cook-sleep life enveloped with internet. Firstly the trip to Vaxjo for Visa extension has been good. It is a good place, much better than Karlskrona with good smiling crowd. The journey has been good with buddies Praneeth, Sai, Shri. But it sadly followed by a couple of submissions which went smoothly. I guess the results would speak for themselves. Sweden is a wonderful place for some good coffee and shopping arcades all built in the centre of the city. But at the end it was these couple of Music shops which really refreshed me from anything. They had excellent guitars and the drum-kit was awesome. It saddens me they are super expensive but I guess they are worth the amount they are priced.

Overall a good trip filled with laughter, journey was sleepy.

The second trip or the Christmas tour was to the vibrant city of Gothenburg. Its just a wonderful place to be. It had the British hangover in its buildings. We started on the 21st morning at 8. The road was bad, white because of snow storms. The beautiful landscape turned into white. It gave a feeling of cruising through the icy mountains like Himalayas or Alps at the speed of a traveling bus. 🙂

The funny combination of Vaxjo trip continued here too with the same sitting formation on the bus. There were three more, Kishore, Mahi and Srini to the combination on the bus this time. The combination was good and laughed. Initially the journey appeared boring and the bus was gloomy with stinking chimpus. Those noodles people, yea, I cannot understand the. Everyone looks the same, best part their hair and all speak as if their roofs are on fire.  We stopped at Varnamo. Its a small place with vast landscape, white with sun sun shining down its rays in one of its rare days. We clicked a few pictures which were splendidly beautiful with McD, Burger King, and Max  selling their burgers. McD sucks, Burger King’s chicken is good, Max’s coffee is the best.

We played a few games on the bus like Truth or Dare with me opening the game with a truth. But Dumb Charades was the saving grace of the trip. It was not the movies but doing with phrases was suggested (maybe not me but who knows). The phrases were funny, little violent to listen. We could not settle for decent names and none could quit. I guess a man is dead or deadly, decent or profanely funny. We entered the Gothenburg city after a good number of rounds. There were a hell lot of multi-national companies. It was a right time to offer prayers to god to accommodate me in one of them. The offices here have a sense of professionalism. The work culture is apt with fixed timings, benefits, little stress etc. You can’t ask for more from a job and you don’t have to search for the second one.

Finally we are in the heart of the city after a 5 hour journey. We passed through the grand stylish football stadium, and roads with chains of restaurants. Sushi seems to be very common here. And there was a multiplex with Avatar playing in 3D. No I did not watch but I wish I did. We reached our hotel Scandic. We had a little time to refresh to go to the next visiting place Universum. It is like a good place, good enough to pass our time for a couple of hours. They tried to recreate aquatic life. It also had some amusement  stuff with dance board, horse riding.

The next place we visited was Liseberg. It is an excellent amusement park here in Scandinavia. Best time to visit would be the summer when there would be roller-coaster rides to scare the living life out. Many rides were closed due to winter, snow and extremely low temperatures. But the place was crowded. This was the first time I saw crowds of people all at one place in Sweden. I should tell the airports and railway stations are also empty here. But the park was beautiful with lights and stuff, shops. These bloody burger stores were also murky and crowded. I hate standing in long queues to buy food. And when you’re hungry like you haven’t had food for days and you stand in such long queue, you tend to eat like crazy. On top of this, we did not find place to eat indoors, eating outside in chilly negative temperatures is painful.  All this while I was getting pissed off many things. Firstly the it was frigging chilly. Secondly and so forth, I really did not want to visit Liseberg just lighting and stuff, instead I wanted to have some good food and look around what’s happening in the city. The city had trams, good to see them again in my life. Oh finally I felt I’m in Europe.  We made our way back to the Hotel and left to have some food. I left to shop for a while in a mall called Nordstad with Praneeth while the rest went to an Indian restaurant. I bought myself CAT shoes, bloody expensive. After all – first look, impressive, good to buy. We then joined the boys in the restaurant. The food was terribly bad. I don’t know since when that Sardar has been running his restaurant. The naan was terribly strong, strong enough to break teeth and the curries were bad. I should say I did not like lest the boys would hit my back.

We went back, we went to our respective rooms to sleep after a while.

The next day was short, lot of things to do. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was awful. Some items were good. But mostly it had stupid things kept to eat for a brakfast. I mean,I wouldn’t want bacon in breakfast and simple breadbutter would not do in a buffet. Chicken was good, scrambled egg was energetic enough to drag our weights for a few hours.

We left to shop for the rest of the day in Nordstad. It is a very big mall, modern, with lots of people. Here I caught my love. This time its the iphone. I got one and found a little happiness again. And I had few interesting stuff to purchase there. There was this lady at a shop selling artistic stuff. Postcards with movie labels on it. I found Bergman’s Seventh Seal which will reserved to my mate Sajju. There were these hippy bags, Jim Morission’s (read The God), Beatles’, Elvis’s, Bob Dylan’s painted posters. Wow they made me happy. Sadly they were expensive but it was good I found them. And there was this old man drawing sketches of Pitt (Jack Sparrow), Elvis, Monroe etc. I got Jack. There was this ice cream store. and therefore it was godly romantic eating ice-cream in the chill outside. I looked crazy among people but again its just superly romantic.

Unfortunately we ran outta time, counting time every once in a while, we were nearing to catch the return bus. Part of the plan was to visit the Volvo museum. We were just wishing extra time to have a good look at the city, shop more and check out the beauties of the city. But anyway we took the bus. I guess we would have gotten an hour had I not made an issue for all the reasons I was pissed off.

We visited the Volvo museum. It had a good display of their cars coming from the 20s to the concept cars. Engines for aircrafts, ships, ferries, trucks, ah god knows which valve kicks what of the vehicle! Magnificent engineering effort. There was this picture of Volvo with the description that says – all the staff of Volvo fitted in one photograph. All this while, there was no Sameeraj in the picture. He joined us with his purchasings from the Indian store. God bless him 🙂 There was a small show about the company after which people talked to a manager. I did neither.

Back on the bus. There was this bridge that closely represented the Manhattan bridge, or the new Hoogli bridge in Calcutta. Looked like a wonder. Ah well, it became a customary habit for me to feel nostalgic in the middle of such exciting times. Its just my longing and love for true mates, home, my homeland Vizag.

Somebody on the bus suggested Dumb Charades. This time it was challenging. We divided ourselves into two groups. It became worse after a few rounds since these people made the rule of not giving English movie names. I hardly can recollect challenging names. The king of the game was Subash, wow, hats off he could do any movie and in interesting ways. I sucked in the beginning. Ah the ladies Sowmya and Sneha were giving names I never heard of and I bet my grannys would struggle to recollect them for a while. Thanks be to Mahi and praneeth and Sai who saved from all sort of embarrassments while Kishore and Srini did  good job. Other participants involved in giving each other a good time are Toofan the Shravan, Jagadish, Raghu, Suram, Chandu, Vasanthi, Swetha, Sridevi & Harini.  (inclusion of names is for the sake of appreciation :), kindly bear )

Sameer was given the name Jayasurya. And the trip reached its end with a few folk numbers by Sameer and Srinu.

Highlights:

Undoubtedly the first love like affairs in the shopping arcade. The Manhattan like bridge. Partly the museums. Watching trams after Calcutta. The entrance to the central station resembling brit architecture. Shining sun at Varnamo. Playing Dumb Charades after a long time. and getting back home safely. & Partly the museum, park and definitely the stay at Scandic.

I guess this would be the last of the trips with these guys. Trips are good when you’re in good company, not drunk.

I hope believers must have had a pleasant and wonderful Xmas, gifts and the rest a very good day. With the year coming to an end, let us hope for a prosperous and good year and a decade.

Make peace, not war

That side of life

June 29, 2009 at 3:00 pm (Uncategorized)

Somewhere on the horizon where

realities are contrasted by

mirage,

the borderline of all

joys & melancholies,

where the bell is heard to wake

us

to the nuances of

little things,

unnamed pleasures,

mirrors of life,

there; come into picture.

A road map of where to where

of things we yearn

in the narrowest streets of consciousness;

the otherside.

Summertime love song.

June 29, 2009 at 2:54 pm (Uncategorized)

Summertime love

come this season.

We’re a feeling away

& I see the summer’s

slipping away.

You’re coolly windy

My love to be is

dreamy.

Our time to sail till

the end of the skyline

We can be so good together

till the end of the season.

Evening winds are anxious

coming from a place

across the sea.

We’ll be so fine

our summertime love to be.

Why Not Today

June 22, 2009 at 2:42 pm (Uncategorized)

Remember a day like today
When you were so young
Can we play today?
You only have to wish
We can happily pass the time
Talking all day under the tree
We wear wooden shoes
we can’t move ourselves
Let’s remember how we used to be.

Remember a day like today
When I felt like heaven
Can we blow the years?
Can you understand my feelings?
Can we dream away?
Why can’t we talk all day?
I used to climb my favourite tree
Plucked fruits for you
How we used to jump off the fence!
Do you still remember me?

Death Prayers

June 22, 2009 at 2:40 pm (Uncategorized)

we’re trying to reach the edge
in the middle of a flame
the candle it is melting slow
unknown mathematics of life cycles

men so little in the eye of death
monstrous energy at the tongue of death
pain frees giving wings to fly
breaking the shells smoothly into the vast universe

old wine in the hour of death
silent prayers in the moments of death
end of knowledge and soulful wisdom
death connects all colours in freezing silence.

A kid grown old

June 21, 2009 at 7:16 pm (Uncategorized)

A thousand years pass on by
Gently sigh an ode to the mother
A reflection in the last glass I drank
In times like these
Thinking of all the subtle moments
Your kisses on my cheek
That made a difference
Now everything seems like a dream
I’m your love and will be in the life to come.

A thousand years pass on by

Gently sigh an ode to the mother

A reflection in the last glass I drank

In times like these

Thinking of all the subtle moments

Your kisses on my cheek

That made a difference

I’m your love and will be in the life to come.

Misplaced commonsense

June 21, 2009 at 7:12 pm (Uncategorized)

Erect mind like an ancient pillar

Strong, stiff like

on a mission.

Spade, jack, queen of hearts

Here we pass through

the dark gambling spots

Chance after chance

How many similar spots we pass by!!

Entertain

There’s nothing to be happy about
No jolly minute
Beginning of sadness.
Identity disease
Death by the faces
Faces screaming voices of machine sex
Such rascals
Desperate and unknowingly weak
Souls fat & ignorant
What do you want?
Anything for female touch?

Most wanted

Strange days

They seem wicked

Haunting from the every corner

Of a brain rolling into

The unseen moles of the

Universe.

Really wicked

When you’re unwanted.

In ache

June 17, 2009 at 5:47 pm (Uncategorized)

Some time ago I dreamt

A dream I never dreamt before

A very nice & special dream

People were out on the streets

Running, yelling

For some fresh air. Oh, where can we find?

An angel landed before me

Eternity at a glimpse

Sweet beginnning to a holocaust

I said

She held by my neck

A slow century of her moving

& kissed my mouth

Set your journey to

The temples of the universe

You’re breaking through

Poet of the modern wilderness

She said

She flew away

Chill. It went dark all of a sudden

In the ultraviolet room.

Head aches like never before.
